Neetesh Saxena is an Assistant Professor in Cyber Security with the Department of Computer Science and Informatics at Cardiff University, UK. Before joining the CU, he was an Assistant Professor with Bournemouth University, UK. Prior to this, he was a Post-Doctoral Researcher in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology, USA. He was also with the Department of Computer Science, The State University of New York (SUNY) Korea, South Korea as a Post-Doctoral Researcher and a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Computer Science, Stony Brook University, USA. He earned his PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Indore, India. In 2013-14, he was a DAAD Research Scholar at the Bonn-Aachen International Center for Information Technology (B-IT), Rheinische-Friedrich-Wilhelms Universität, Bonn, Germany. He was also a TCS Research Scholar.
His current research interests include cyber security, cyber-physical system (smart grid and V2G) security, cellular network security, communication network security, securing end-to-end systems and applications. He has published several high-quality publications in IEEE Transactions, ACM Transactions, IEEE, Elsevier and Springer Journals, as well as in ACM CCS workshop, IEEE ICC, IEEE TrustCom, IEEE SMC, ACSAC, and IEEE CCNC. He is a recipient of the ComSoc YP and WICE Best Paper Award at IEEE ICC 2017. He has organised several conferences and workshops including an IEEE SMC Society sponsored summer school “Human Factors in System Safety and Security” at the Bournemouth University, UK in July 2017. He has also served as a reviewer for many prestigious IEEE journals, such as TIFS, TVT, COMST, TSG, TII, TSC, TC, TMC, TEM and SJ. He has served as a session chair for IEEE SMC 2013 and 2018, and a track chair: Information Technology and the Internet for IEEE TEMSCON 2018. He has also been a TPC member for many international conferences such as IEEE ICC, IEEE MILCOM, IEEE TrustCom, IEEE SmartGridCom, IEEE WiMob, IEEE PIMRC and IEEE ICCC, and an independent reviewer for ESORICS, ECIS, IEEE VTC, HICSS, IEEE ICUFN and TEMSCON. He is also contributing as a member towards recently setup research communities and committees, such as the IEEE IoT committee, IEEE 5G technical committee, IEEE transportation electrification community, IEEE smart grid community and IEEE cybersecurity community along with an active senior member of IEEE and a member of IEEE SMC, IEEE ComSoc, ACM, and Eta Kappa Nu.
